Davis Polk Advises Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group on NYSE Listing

Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP advised Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Inc. on the SEC registration and New York Stock Exchange listing of its American Depositary Receipts, representing its common shares. SMFG is one of the largest financial institutions in the world in terms of assets. SMFG's common shares have a market capitalization of $41 billion, the largest of any NYSE listing since 2002 and the largest ever of a Japanese issuer listing on the NYSE.
