Davis Polk Advises Shire on Its Acquisition of Advanced BioHealing

Davis Polk is advising Shire plc on its $750 million cash acquisition of Advanced BioHealing, Inc. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including antitrust clearances.

Westport, Connecticut-based Advanced BioHealing is a privately held leading regenerative medicine company that develops, manufactures and commercializes living cell-based therapies for regenerative medicine. Dublin-based Shire is a leading specialty biopharmaceutical company that focuses on meeting the needs of the specialist physician. Shire focuses its business on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), human genetic therapies (HGT) and gastrointestinal (GI) diseases as well as opportunities in other therapeutic areas to the extent they arise through acquisitions.
