Davis Polk & Wardwell advised Morgan Stanley Capital Partners on its investment in Triana Energy, LLC. As a result of its investment, Morgan Stanley Capital Partners acquired a majority interest in Triana Energy.

Based in Charleston, West Virginia, Triana Energy is an independent company engaged in the exploration and production of oil and natural gas in the Appalachian Basin. Morgan Stanley Capital Partners is a New York-based principal investment firm specializing in all stages of development in middle-market businesses.
