The American Lawyer has named Davis Polk litigation partner Frances Bivens to its list of “45 Under 45,” which recognizes the “best of the best” among young women lawyers in the Am Law 200. The magazine's January 2011 issue highlights her high-profile trial work for clients such as Con Edison and Hyundai Heavy Industries. Bivens is representing Con Edison in litigation related to a steam explosion in midtown Manhattan in the summer of 2007, and she represents Hyundai Heavy Industries – the manufacturer of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig – in multidistrict litigation arising out of the Gulf oil spill.
