Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP is advising Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. as financial adviser to the special committee of the board of directors of RCN Corporation in connection with its $1.2 billion acquisition by ABRY Partners. The transaction has fully committed financing and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2010.

RCN Corporation is a competitive broadband services provider whose primary service areas include Washington DC, Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley (PA), New York City, Boston and Chicago. Boston-based ABRY Partners is a media and communications-focused private equity investment firm in North America.
